For some time, ACLU and others have raised concerns about oversight of the Pasadena Police Department and the Los Angeles Couty Sheriff’s Department. Pasadena Public Safety Committee Chair Jacque Robinson will describe the current oversight of the Pasadena’s Police Department, and Miriam Krinsky, former Executive Director of the L.A. Citizens Commission on Jail Violence, will describe the recent modifications in the oversight of the Sheriff’s Department. Many United States jurisdictions have developed effective, affordable oversight of their law enforcement entities. Brian Buchner, President, National Association for Civilian Oversight of Law Enforcement, will discuss various methods of civilian oversight that could serve as models for Pasadena.
