Serving the cities of: Murrieta, Menifee, Temecula, Perris, Lake Elsinore, Corona and Norco
Riverside's Southwest Unit was formed in 2019. Our community services include: registering voters, holding local candidate forums, studying local issues, observing local governing bodies, and taking action on local, state, and national political issues.
Issues of special interest for the Southwest Unit are:
* Maintaining free, fair, and accessible voting systems with voting districts that keep communities intact and ensure that everyone is equally represented.
* Work to increase responsiveness and transparency in local governance.
* Demand environmentally conscious land use and community-friendly zoning practices.
* Monitor all issues related to ‘sprawl,’ including water sustainability and a suitable infrastructure to support new development.
* Encourage responsive and efficient public safety mechanisms, whether City operated or contracted from the county.

LWV Southwest Unit meets virtually on the 1st Saturday of each month at 10:00am via ZOOM to share updates and discuss a topic of local interest to League members To join us please email LWVriverside [at] att.net for the ZOOM registration link. Links to register for the meeting and information about the month's topic are sent out before the unit meeting.
