County Government

League positions on Santa Cruz County Government were originally adopted in 1969 and are reviewed annually.
Position In Brief: 
The League of Women Voters of Santa Cruz County supports:
 
1.  Consolidation and/or cooperation of special districts in the interest of greater efficiency, economy, better services, and more responsive representation.

2.  The primary responsibility of the Board of Supervisors should be to act as a policy-making body.

3.  Coordination and cooperation of all agencies involved in planning and development in the early formulation of programs and in their implementation.

4.  Continued use of citizens' committees to advise the Board of Supervisors on governmental problems and organizations.
