Protecting voting rights means ensuring every eligible voter has a voice!
Last week, LWVGLA Board members joined women leaders, advocates, and community organizations in Beverly Hills for a No on Prop 39 press conference highlighting concerns about the measure’s potential impact on women voters and access to the ballot.
The event featured LA County Supervisor Lindsey Horvath, League of Women Voters of California Executive Director Jenny Farrell, UNAC/UHCP President Charmaine Morales, Planned Parenthood Advocacy Project LA County's Claudia Powell, and West Hollywood Councilmember Chelsea Byers.
Proposition 39 would introduce new voter identification requirements for Californians voting in person and by mail. The League of Women Voters of California opposes the measure, citing concerns about additional barriers to voting.
We're grateful to see women leaders coming together to elevate this important conversation about voting rights and equitable access to our democracy.
