Please join the League for our November Second Saturday program:  "Alternative Voting Systems".   

Three alternative voting systems will be presented by two guest speakers at the League of Women Voters of Western Nevada County’s program on Saturday, November 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. 

Paula Lee of the LWV of Sacramento will discuss Ranked Choice Voting and National Popular Vote Compact. Ms. Lee was a member of the LWV California State Electoral Systems study in 2001. She headed the caucus for National Popular Vote Compact at the 2006 LWVUS Convention and has remained active and informed on voting systems.

Local resident Lang Waters, a passionate advocate of this lesser-known system, will present an overview of Approval Voting. 

The program is one of the League’s Second Saturday Series of programs. The doors open at 9:30 a.m. and the program starts promptly at 10:00 a.m.
