Three guest speakers will join in covering the topic, “Health Care in America: The Plans Explained,” at the League of Women Voters of Western Nevada County’s program on Saturday, February 8 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  Doors open at 9:30am for meet and greet. Program begins promptly at 10:00am.

Kimberly Parker, Executive Director, Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Foundation

*Kimberly will focus on the health care challenges for rural hospitals. She will also touch on the Affordable Care Act, upcoming seismic regulations and the governor's budget proposal.
 
Leah Schwinn, Chair of Health Care for All - CA, Nevada County Chapter.
 
*Leah will explain the Affordable Care Act and where this got us in terms of health care for Americans. She will also explain the Public Option.
 
Mindy Oberne, former Chair of Health Care for All - CA, Nevada County Chapter.
 
*Mindy will explain Single Payer and how this will accomplish getting all Americans covered in one plan.
 
*Both Leah and Mindy will then clarify where the top Democratic Candidates stand as far as their plans, the time frame for roll out of those plans, and how they envision paying for them.
