The AAUW Deerfield Chapter and their co-hosts, Waukegan Area AAUW and the Leagues of Women Voters Highland Park/Highwood, Lake Forest/Lake Bluff, and Deerfield/Lincolnshire, welcome their members to hear Illinois Supreme Court Justice Elizabeth M. Rochford speak on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at 7:00 pm, CT. Justice Rochford will offer a behind-the-scenes look at life and work on the court and the traditions that encourage civility and collaboration among the justices, some of which are unique to Illinois. She will also celebrate the fact that the new court is comprised of the first female majority (5 of 7) in Illinois history, with 3 black justices (2 of them women), which is also historic. Four justices have joined the court since last July, including Justice Rochford who was sworn-in on December 5, 2022.
