Protecting Democracy in an Age of Social Media and AI

LWVIL Mis/Disinformation Task Force
Wednesday, April 17, 2024 - 7:00pm

On Wednesday, April 17, join us to discuss the effect of social media and AI on elections—how can we protect democracy from the spread of misinformation and disinformation?

Our featured speaker is Diane Chang, Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the Brown Institute for Media Innovation at Columbia Journalism School and the former head of Election Integrity and Product Strategy at Meta.  Organized by the LWVIL’s Misinformation and Disinformation Task Force, the event is the second in a series of presentations where noted authorities will discuss topics that inform and educate voters in advance of the 2024 General Election on Tuesday, November 5.

All programs are recorded and are made available on the LWV Illinois Misinformation & Disinformation Task Force web site.
