OPENING MEETING: LWV HP-HWD 

2021 - 2022 SEASON

While we have hosted other meetings since the start of the 2021-22 season, our official Opening Meeting, Marijuana 2022, will be held on February 9th, 2022 at 7:00 pm.  The program will be virtual with registration required using this link. 

Panelists for this program will include:

• Leslie Mendoza Temple, M.D., Medical Director, Integrative Medicine Program, NorthShore University HealthSystem
• Ghida Neukirch, Highland Park City Manager
• Scott Coren, Highwood City Manager
• Giselle Fesalvo, Representative, Windy City Cannabis, (Highwood recreational use dispensary)

Speakers will address the timeline of legalization and the development of medical to recreational use, including the discussions Highwood and Highland Park had in the authorization of sales.  Dr. Mendoza Temple will discuss the background information on how and why views on use and sales have changed and how the new laws appear to be working. 

There will time for questions and discussion.
