June marks the 100th Anniversary of Kansas ratifying the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote. On August 24, 2019,  the League of Women Voters of Kansas will celebrate the country’s first League (the first League in the United States was started in Wichita) with a luncheon featuring speakers Nancy Landon Kassebaum Baker (one of our Centennial Committee honorary chairs) and LWVUS President Chris Carson at the Hughes Metroplex (WSU Campus). This event will also mark the launch of the LWVK-exclusive educational traveling exhibit, “Learning from the Past, Imagining the Future.”

You will want to be there! LWVL-DC is sponsoring at least one table: tickets to sit at a sponsored table will be $60, but individual tickets will be available soon at a cost of $50 for open seating. If you are interested in attending, please contact our treasurer, Melissa Wick, by June 28th.
