The controversial film “Best Democracy Money Can Buy” is the Hot Topic program, Thursday, October 18. We will meet at 11:30 am at the Library Auditorium. The film will begin at noon. Running time is under two hours, and even with discussion to follow, the event is planned to conclude by 2:30 pm.
The film’s solid reporting by Rolling Stone journalist Greg Palast has been reviewed positively. He includes voter suppression information from the 2016 presidential election and focuses on Kansas’s flawed and unsecured Voter Registration Interstate Crosscheck program. Celebrity appearances include Ice-T and Richard Belzer, Willie Nelson, Rosario Dawson, and Shailene Woodley. Actor Jason Alexander states, “Palast’s amazing, mind-blowing, literate and disturbingly funny account of what has happened to this country has left me dizzy.”
Invite friends and neighbors. The public is welcome to attend.
