Legislative Advocacy event features crisis management

The 2021 Kansas Legislative Event for Advocacy in Faith (LEAF), entirely online this year, will begin with a Monday evening session on "Crisis Management for the Average Kansan."

Keynote speaker is Lynn Rogers, state treasurer, who previously has served as lieutenant governor, in the Kansas senate and on the Wichita School Board.

A panel discussion on the concurrent crises in public health, education and racism will include Dr. Lee Norman, director of the Kansas Department of Health and Environment; Dr. Randy Watson, education commissioner; and the Rev. Dee J. Williamston, Salina-Hays District Superintendent of the United Methodist Church. 

Workshops are recorded and can be viewed at leisure. Among the workshop presenters will be Teresa Briggs and Cille King, LWVK co-presidents, on the work of the League titled “Our Work Doesn’t Stop at the Ballot Box.”
