About the Candidate:
I moved to Wenham in 1998 with my wife Tracy. Tracy is currently a public school teacher in Beverly, MA. We have two children. Morgan Liphardt a junior at St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY, and Makenzie Liphardt a senior at Hamilton Wenham regional high school. I have worked in the software industry for the last 25 years. I’m the senior director of North East and Canada for CloudBees. Previously I spent 10 years at Red Hat. I’m currently serving as a commissioner on the Wenham water board. Re-elected in 2020. I have served on the HW Little League board, HW youth football board, HW Babe Ruth board, HW touchdown club, and the HW baseball booster board.

1) What issues do you feel will be the most challenging for Wenham to resolve in the next 2 years? What skills do you have that will help the town meet these challenges?
1) Maintain or reduce the property tax rate.
2) Reduce people churn at the town hall and the school superintend.
3) Improve our school's infrastructure. I currently manage a region that produces $30 million dollar year in revenue. I have over 32 people on my team. I understand how to hire and motivate people. Getting the right people in place, and clearly defining the town's mission statement, is the key to getting Wenham in a better place than it is today. I’m not afraid to make tough decisions. I have a zero tolerance policy on any harassment or discrimination.

2) How would you gather the information you need to make decisions and what principles would guide your decision-making?
I would get that information from the Wenham residents, and Wenham employees. The people of Wenham would guide me. I would guide my decision on what is best for the town today and in the future. As an elected official you need to do what’s best for everyone. You need to understand everyone's issues and have an open mind. We need to make it more affordable for the elderly while continuing to offer world-class education to our residents.
