Eight of us stood out for democracy on this cold day in December. We may not have names like Dasher, Dancer, Comet and Blitzen, but we all carried messages of peaceful protest, and the desire to support all our fellow human beings.
Another chilly day, but 11 tough patriots stood out to protect the rule of law and our First Amendment rights. An hour is doable even when the air is on the cold side. You get a warm glow and a sense of pride for supporting democracy.
It was a tough day for a Peaceful Protest, the Holiday Boutique was going on, which is a wonderful yearly event, but parking was tough. And it was cold!
Started our peaceful protest with just 4 folks, then 6, then 8, we made it all the way up to 14. Chilly and brisk, we warmed to the task at hand, and then the cold did not seem all that bad.
Chilly and damp, but 11 of us stood out last Saturday. When the weather is not so great, folks beep longer and louder. I think they appreciate us standing out when conditions are less than ideal.
Our first really chilly day, next week I am bringing gloves! But we are New Englanders and are made of tough stuff. The hour went by quickly for the 8 patriots that came to stand out.
