A good turnout for a cold day. 20 of us stood out for Democracy. In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, here are some applicable MLK quotes for why we protest:
"There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe nor politic nor popular, but he must take it because his conscience tells him it is right."
"We must condemn those who are perpetuating the violence and not the individuals who engage in the pursuit of their constitutional rights."
"I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality. This is why right, temporarily defeated, is stronger than evil triumphant."
"We cannot walk alone. And as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall always march ahead. We cannot turn back."

Please join us every Saturday
We’ll be in front of Winthrop School on Bay Road from 11 AM to noon.
Just show up! Bring a sign or borrow one – we have extra signs to share!
Democracy is not a spectator sport and it feels good to do something with your community. Whenever you can join us, you will be welcomed with a smile!
