Phew, our first stand out in a while with uncomfortable weather, very hot and humid. But while our number was small for our 70th protest for democracy, the seven samurai held their signs high and proudly! And the passersby, bikes, walkers, many cars and trucks, were particularly enthusiastic and positive, always an inspiration. Unite and Rise!
We are an official Unite and Rise Event. You may register as an attendee, to show your support. Although registering is optional see you there.
Our 70th Stand Out celebrates LWV Unite & Rise for Voting Rights – a nationwide day of civic action inspired by the power of communities coming together to protect and strengthen our democracy. We rise together. We welcome you to be part of a nationwide movement for civic engagement and voter participation.
♥ Every Saturday! We’ll be in front of Winthrop School on Bay Road from 11 AM to noon.
♥ Just show up! Bring a sign or borrow one – we have extra signs to share!
♥ Whenever you can join us, and even if it is for a few minutes, you will be welcomed with a smile, valued and counted!
♥ Democracy is not a spectator sport and it feels good to do something with your community.
