On June 6th, LWVW members Ellen Hallett, Erry Johnson and Tanya Roy joined other LWVMA members at the Naturalization Ceremony in Lowell to help welcome 995 new American citizens from 95 countries, greeting them with flags and voter registration applications.
Eva Rajczyk of Greater Haverhill organized this event's voter registration team. In her welcoming remarks to the assembled crowd of candidates and their families, she spoke eloquently about becoming naturalized and the rights and responsibilities of citizenship. It was thrilling to congratulate these new citizens and to witness their excited anticipation of voting in upcoming fall elections.
The next Naturalization Ceremony in Lowell is scheduled on August 22, 2018. We expect to send a few LWVW volunteers.
