Calling all League of Women Voters of Wellesley Members. You are invited to join us for the event of the season.
FAQ: WHAT IS ANNUAL MEETING AND WHY SHOULD I BE THERE?
Most groups need an organizational plan and the League of Women Voters is no different. On the National and State levels there are Conventions every two years. On the local level, there is an Annual Meeting.
Last year, after three years of Zoom Annual Meetings, we met in person. We truly enjoyed the social aspects of being able to relax and visit with each other over good food and wine before sitting down to review the past year and plan for the next one. This year, on May 15th, we will meet to adopt a budget for the coming year, elect a new Board and talk about what you, our members, want to see the League involved with in the coming year.
We hope most of our current Board members will attend but also need at least ten percent non-Board League members present to have an official quorum needed to conduct business. This year that number is 14 members. If this is your first Annual Meeting, come and see why this event is both fun and inspiring! Look for the invitation to sign up for what you will bring to shared for the pot luck dinner that precedes our yearly business meeting.
