Meet the Candidates Night will be held on Thursday, March 1st from 6:30 - 9 pm. in the Wakelin Room of the Wellesley Free Library. The event promises to be a lively venue for voters to meet the candidates first-hand, hear their positions on issues of importance to the town, and pose questions directly to them. Twenty-one candidates are running for eleven Town-wide offices and six races - Selectmen, Board of Health, Natural Resources Commission, Planning (both 1 year and 5 year terms) and Recreation - are contested. The Meet & Greet reception begins at 6:30 pm and will be followed by a brief ceremony honoring retired elected officials and the formal Candidates Forum at 7:00 pm. The event is free and open to the public and light refreshments will be served.
Meet the Candidates Night event will be live on Comcast 8/Verizon 40 and will replay up through the election on same channels. Check TV guide on wellesleymedia.org for specific days/times. The event will also be streamed in high definition live via the Internet and available for on-demand viewing the next morning. Wellesley’s town Election Day is Tuesday, March 5th, with polls open from 7:00 am – 8:00 pm. Further election details are available through the Town Clerk and on the League of Women Voters of Wellesley website
