Meet the Candidates Night will be held on Thursday, March 12th from 6:30 - 9 pm. in the Wellesley Middle School Auditorium (note new venue this year!). The event promises to be a lively venue for voters to meet the candidates first-hand, hear their positions on issues of importance to the town, and pose questions directly to them. Nineteen candidates are running for sixteen Town-wide offices and four races - Moderator, Selectmen, School Committee, and Board of Public Works (1 year term) - are contested. The Meet & Greet reception begins at 6:30 pm and will be followed by a brief ceremony honoring retired elected officials and the formal Candidates Forum at 7:00 pm. The event is free and open to the public and light refreshments will be served.
Meet the Candidates Night event will be live on Comcast 8/Verizon 40 and will replay up through the election on same channels. Check TV guide on wellesleymedia.org for specific days/times. The event will also be streamed in high definition live via the Internet and available for on-demand viewing the next morning. Wellesley’s town Election Day is Tuesday, March 17th, with polls open from 7:00 am – 8:00 pm. Further election details are available through the Town Clerk and on the League of Women Voters of Wellesley website
