Please join us on Friday, April 16, at noon for a Zoom lunch with Dr. Charmie Curry, Wellesley Public Schools' first Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Dr. Curry joined WPS in 2019, having been an educator and teacher coach at the elementary school level for more than a decade. She has a B. A. in Journalism from Temple University, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Northeastern University and a Doctor of Education in PreK-12 Educational leadership from Endicott College. Dr. Curry recently recently presented her Educator and Staff Experience survey to the WPS community. More information about Wellesley's DEI mission and initiatives can be found here. If you have not yet viewed "Wake Up Wellesley", a four-part livestream discussion between students, faculty and administrators in Wellesley, links are available here: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, and Part 4 (Part 4 starts at 10'30"). These conference-style presentations are intended to begin the conversation about racism in Wellesley, illuminating the injustices and microaggressions which permeate our children's and neighbors' everyday lives. LWVW members will be receiving an Evite to this event soon!
