Alert from End Gun Violence in Michigan (EGVM)

Bills were just filed to repeal Michigan's extreme risk protection order law (sometimes called a "red flag" law or abbreviated ERPO).

We campaigned hard to create the ERPO system just two years ago. It allows firearms to be temporarily removed from those who have become a danger to themselves or others. The State of Michigan just released a report on the first year of ERPO, and confirmed what we already know: this law is saving lives. In just the first year, firearms were removed from nearly 300 dangerous situations.

Even opponents of the law are now using it to make their communities safer.

Please call your state representative TODAY, and tell them to OPPOSE HB 4139 & 4140.

Tell them that our red flag law is saving lives and that we can't afford to go backwards.
