One Last Chance to Broaden Scope of Review to Include Climate in the Fight Against Line Five - Michigan Climate Action Network - October 6

Line 5
Time Range For Action Alert:
Sep 27 2022 to Oct 14 2022

We have one last opportunity to broaden the scope of review to include climate in the fight against line five. Join us next Thursday, October 6, for the third and final hearing to offer your opinion on the Army Corps of Engineers' proposed plan for its Environmental Impact Statement.

As it stands now, the Army Corps' scope is presented as an assessment between leaving the current, faulty Line 5 pipes in place or boring a tunnel beneath our scarce freshwater resource. But we know that the best decision is to consider all aspects of climate and available sources of energy while we still can—anything less would be undermining our state's commitment to a carbon-free future.

We've prepared a set of talking points you can tweak for next week's meeting, happening virtually from 1 to 4 p.m. via Zoom.

If you were unable to fit any of the three live hearings into your schedule but are looking for a way to back the cause, you can also submit written testimony up until October 14.

Help us make the most of this critical comment period before it closes!

In solidarity,

Colleen Otte | Communications Specialist, Michigan Climate Action Network
