You can track your absentee ballot and application by visiting mi.gov/vote and clicking on “Your voter information.”
You can see this information:
The date your clerk received your application for an absentee ballot.
The date your clerk mailed your absentee ballot to you.
The date your clerk received your completed absentee ballot.
If there is no date under a specific field, it means that step is not yet complete. You can follow up with your city or township clerk or call 866-OUR-VOTE if you have any questions. And as always - if you’re having any issues with your application or your ballot, or you requested a ballot more than a few weeks ago (or are on the Permanent Mail Ballot List) and have not yet received it, please call 866-OUR-VOTE.
For most voters, your absentee ballot must be received by your city or township clerk by 8 p.m. on Election Day (August 6) to count. If you’re serving in the military or living overseas, your ballot must be postmarked by Election Day (August 6) and received by August 12 to count.
PS: Prop 2 gave voters a right to an enhanced tracking system for absentee ballot applications and absentee ballots, including the right to receive electronic notifications about the status of their application and ballot and to be notified of any deficiencies and how to fix them. The Department of State is still working to implement this system - we’ll let you know as soon as it’s ready.
