Unless you are serving in the military or living overseas, your absentee ballot must be received by your city or township clerk by 8 p.m on Election Day. If you still have your ballot, drop it off at your city or township clerk’s office or satellite office, or return it using a drop box in your city or township. You can find the location and hours of your clerk’s office and drop boxes by visiting mi.gov/vote and clicking on “Your voter information.” Alternatively–if you live anywhere other than Detroit–you can bring your complete ballot to your polling place on Election Day and feed it into a tabulator. Just tell the poll workers that you’d like to do this when you check in.
If you are serving in the military or living overseas, your absentee ballot must be postmarked by Election Day (November 5) and received by November 11 in order to count.
If you have any questions about voting or need to report an issue, call the nonpartisan Election Protection Hotline at (866) OUR-VOTE | (866) 687-8683 or one of the hotlines available in a language other than English for assistance.
