Here are some important dates you need to know in order to cast your ballot, February 26 - Election Day.

 Feb. 26: If you’re already registered to vote where you live, you can vote absentee in person at your city or township clerk’s office until 4pm on February 26 (after that, you must vote at your polling place on Election Day).

 Feb. 27: Election Day! The polls are open from 7am until 8pm local time. If you need to register or to update your registration, you can do so at your city or township clerk’s office until 8pm. Once registered, you can vote by absentee ballot at your clerk’s office. Absentee ballots must be received by your city or township clerk by 8pm (unless you are a military or overseas voter, in which case your ballot must be postmarked by this date).

  • March 1: If you learn that there’s an issue with the signature on your absentee ballot envelope, you have until 5pm on March 1 to fix it in order for your ballot to be counted. 

 

Tomorrow is Election Day for the Presidential Primary! Here’s what you need to know: 

 The polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. local time. To find your polling place, go to mi.gov/vote and click on “Your voter information,” or call 866-OUR-VOTE. If you are in line by 8:00 p.m., you have the right to vote.

 If you are not registered to vote, or you need to update your registration, you can register to vote or update your registration in person at your city or township clerk’s office with proof of residency until 8 p.m. on Election Day. After you register, you can vote by absentee ballot at your clerk’s office. 

 Unless you are serving in the military or living overseas, your absentee ballot must be received by your city or township clerk by 8:00 p.m on Election Day. If you still have your ballot, drop it off at your city or township clerk’s office, or return it using a drop box provided by your city or township clerk. You can find the location and hours of your clerk’s office and drop boxes by visiting mi.gov/vote and clicking on “Your voter information.”

 If you are serving in the military or living overseas, your absentee ballot must be postmarked by Election Day (February 27) and received by March 4in order to count. 

 If you have any questions about voting or need to report an issue, call the nonpartisan Election Protection Hotline at (866) OUR-VOTE or one of the hotlines available in a language other than English for assistance.
