• Millions of Michiganders do not have access to the necessary documents outlined in this proposal. Obtaining these documents is costly and time-consuming.
• Clerks are election administrators, not immigration officers. This bill would require local clerks to review and evaluate citizenship documentation, creating confusion, delay, and liability exposure.
