This weekend (August 3-4), all city and township clerks must be open for at least eight hours for voter registration and in-person absentee voting. At this point, the only way to register to vote in the August 6 Primary Election is in person at your city or township clerk’s office with proof of residency (like a utility bill or paycheck). To find the location and hours of your local clerk’s office, you can go to mi.gov/vote and click on “Where are my clerk’s offices.”

Once you register to vote at your local clerk’s office, you can request and complete an absentee ballot there. You can also vote in person at your early voting site through Sunday, August 4, or you can vote on Election Day (August 6) at your polling place. Early voting sites must be open through August 4, including on Saturday and Sunday, for at least eight hours a day. For details on your early voting site(s), visit mi.gov/vote and click on “Where do I go to early vote?”

If you have any questions about voting or need to report an issue, call the nonpartisan Election Protection Hotline at (866) OUR-VOTE or one of the hotlines available in a language other than English for assistance.
