The Wayne State University Center for Peace and Conflict Studies will present its Annual Max Mark-Cranbrook Peace Lecture and Global Peacemaker Awards as a Zoom virtual gathering at 12.30 PM on Sunday September 25. The event is free and open to the public.

This year's honorees are distinguished for their global commitments and accomplishments, and we are so pleased to note that they are both Wayne State Alumni:

Journalist Danny Fenster who reported on disturbing trends in Myanmar and was freed from long term arrest there in November 2021. He received the National Press Club Aubuchon Press Freedom Award during his captivity.

Noted global public health physician and member of Doctors Without Borders, Dr. Craig Spencer. Dr. Spencer was a heroic campaigner against Ebola in Africa, and more recently Professor of Population and Family Health at the Columbia University Medical Center in New York. He has provided medical care across the globe and is uniquely qualified to speak about international responses to pandemics.

We will hear about human rights and global public health issues from two of the world's most prominent advocates. Please join us on the 25th.
