In-Person Meeting
Michigan Central Station
Saturday, March 21, 10:00 AM Eastern Time
Make plans now to gather your family members and friends and head for the historic Michigan Central Station in Detroit on Saturday, March 21st. You will be treated to a tour of the magnificently restored station and learn about the many enterprises housed on the 30-acre campus—including a luxury hotel that will occupy the upper levels of the MC building—and hear about the recently announced commitment by Michigan Central, MDOT, and the City of Detroit to undertake initial research and engineering for a proposed multimodal transportation hub adjacent to the former train station.
The tour is tentatively planned to begin at 10:00 AM, on Saturday, March 21, 2026, followed by a no-host lunch at a nearby venue. Stay tuned for details as plans for the event are finalized.
In keeping with Executive Committee member Eric Schertzing’s recent work to build membership, you are urged to invite a friend (or two) to join you in what promises to be an exciting day exploring a project that could see trains again in the vicinity of one of the grandest stations in the country.
