"Let's Talk Climate"

With Presenter: Dr. Denise Keele, Director of Michigan Climate Action Network

This will be an interactive session which will explore public attitudes, utilize current state policy examples, and distill insights from the social and behavioral sciences to help us all have more effective conversations about climate change with a variety of audiences.

Dr. Keele received her Ph.D in Environmental Politics from Syracuse University and was an Associate Professor of Political Science at Western Michigan University (WMU) in Kalamazoo, Michigan from 2006-2023. Her research and teaching focused on environmental policy and law, in particular the use of the courts and interest groups to influence public policy. She has over a decade of experience in educating others and encouraging action. She brings a collaborative and positive approach to addressing the climate crisis.

State Convention, LWVMI

May 19-21, 2023

at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center in E. Lansing, Michigan

This year’s in-person Convention in East Lansing promises to be informative, productive and fun. State Convention provides us with an opportunity to conduct important business of the state League as well as giving us an opportunity to participate in workshops, learn more about the League and create and renew friendships with League members across the state.

LWVLC Annual Meeting

Monday, June 5 at 12:00 PM Noon

Leelanau County Government Center, Community Room

Lunch will be provided and our speaker will be Michigan Senator John Damoose.

This will be our first in person Annual Meeting since 2019. It is very important for members to attend as a minimum of 44 members must be in attendance to fulfill our quorum requirements for conductinfg business. Please plan to attend!
