More than a dozen League members from across the state joined hundreds of other voting rights advocates in the Capitol rotunda on January 28. They then went on in teams to urge lawmakers to protect the citizen initiative petition process and support legislation to protect election workers from threats and harassment and to restore voting rights to those on probation and parole.
The non-partisan Missouri Voting Rights Legislative Day was organized by the Missouri Voter Protection Coalition.
Two dozen bills threatening majority rule by undermining the initiative petition process have already been filed. An historic 50-hour filibuster in 2024 blocked Senate action on similar bills.
