Support your local League, invite your friends to support the League at your table.  Local, state and national representatives have been invited to join us and discuss issues and solutions.

League members take action on issues where we have studied the topic and have reached conclusions that are embodied in our positions. Our Action/Advocacy Committee meets monthly (see Calendar of Events). Recent activities have included advocacy for affordable housing proposals in several cities, support of extending the county healthcare plan to undocumented immigrants, and statements on the Concord Naval Weapons Station re-use plans.

Civil discourse project with CSUCI

The League of Women Voters of Ventura County partnered with the Communications Team-Building class at Cal State Channel Islands to present The Civil Discourse Project on Nov 27, 2018, from 1:30-3:30 pm in the Petit Salon at CSUCI, 1 University Dr., Camarillo, CA.  Topic for discussion will be "Privilege: Earned or Given?"  

Lively discussions and we learned more about conducting a civil discourse event.
