On September 12, 2024, 29 individuals gathered at Unitarian Universalist Church of Ormond Beach to write postcards supporting Amendment 4, Protecting Women's Health and Freedom to Make her Own Health Decisions.

Pros and Cons

Here is a replay of the Pros and Cons presentation that took place on Monday, Sept. 24 on the 10 state propositions on the ballot, the slideshow that was used at that presentation, and a separate video recorded earlier on each proposition. Information includes just the facts about what they mean, who is financing them, arguments for and against, and more. These are non-partisan presentations based on extensive research of creditable, fact-based resources.

That’s why the League of Women Voters of Alachua County (LWVAC) encourages each person to think ahead and make a plan on where you will be and how you will vote.

In the last week, a journalist with the Independent Florida Alligator interviewed League members for a story on how the LWVAC is getting out the vote, the Gainesville Iguana has accepted a story from me that is chock full of voting information, and the Haile newsletter ran a prominent ad encouraging people to go to the League’s VOTE411.org site for information on ballot issues...

Nevada County Board of Education candidate forum

The Nevada County Board of Education Trustee Area 2 was the first of four candidate forums in this election cycle. Candidates Timothy May (incumbent) and Alvin Gebhart answered many questions from the community on issues ranging from bullying in schools to school finance.
