Support programs and policies to prevent or reduce poverty and to promote self-sufficiency for individuals and families.

Income Assistance. Support income assistance programs, based on need, that provide decent, adequate standards for food, clothing, and shelter.

Support Services. Provide essential support services.

Housing. Support policies to provide a decent home and a suitable living environment for every American family.

Position

Adequate funding for coordinated regional and local public transportation, which provides access to area education, employment, health care, mental health care, government, and food/shopping centers to population centers and rural residents alike.

INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS:

The League seeks to promote peace in an interdependent world, working cooperatively with other nations and international bodies. We have Positions concerning trade, developing countries, arms control, military policy and the United Nations.

Support of local, consistent, year-round transportation for the elderly and/or disabled in the Oxford area financed by public and private funding (1979; amended 2010, 2013, 2015, 2021).
