Dear Members,
Black History Month takes on a special significance this year as we are monitoring and opposing many bills that would limit access to voting as well as the opportunity to impact the vote in many states. Florida is one – League has repeatedly expressed concerns with minority representation and inadequate functional analyses on protected districts and areas of population growth across the state. Be sure to read the article below on redistricting and act.

The Let RI Vote bill in the Senate (S2007) is being heard in the State Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday (2/14). The Senate is holding committee hearings virtually at this time.

We need your voice by Wednesday, February  9, when the House Election Laws Subcommittee takes up a very important early and absentee voting bill. The bill does something that we have long needed, creating a no-excuse early voting period. However, it also does things that are threats to voter access and reasonable election administration. We hope everyone will provide personal testimony at the hearing or in writing. The League's testimony:
