The League of Women Voters of the United States on the national, state and local levels encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.

We are a nonpartisan grassroots political organization, that encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. Any person of voting age, male or female, may become a League member.

The League of Women Voters began in 1920 after women got the vote, and is organized on the national, state, and local level. The local League, an ever growing organization has been active since 1948.
