At 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, League of Women Voters of the Cooperstown Area present author Lindsey Cormack, PhD, author of How to Raise a Citizen (And why it’s up to you to do it). Dr. Cormack will share her research that reveals how little Americans know about their government and how civics instruction receives the lowest number of K-12 classroom hours out of any subject. In How to Raise a Citizen, she offers resources for parents and educators looking to fill this gap. Dr. Cormack is associate professor of political science and director of the Diplomacy Lab at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey. The program is free and open to the public at Cooperstown Coworks, 6 Doubleday Court, Cooperstown, NY
