 NVRD Voter Services Shout Out

Although American democracy has never been what anyone would describe as “easy”, we think it’s fair to say that it will be tested like never before in 2024. The League is committed to defending our democracy in every possible way consistent with our principles.  That includes providing information about and facilitating access to voting.  We know how to speak the civic language of the communities we serve and turn our voter registration events into meaningful engagement for potential voters. We work diligently to spread the word about the importance of voting for all citizens with a special focus on the next generation of voters in the communities we serve.

In celebration of National Voter Registration Day, LWVHF volunteers will be out in force at various sites including Prairie State College, Thornwood, Homewood-Flossmoor, and Hillcrest High Schools; Waterford Estates Senior Living Center, Hazel Crest Veterans Food Giveaway, South Holland Library, and many other locations.

Educating and registering voters is more important now than ever before and volunteers are needed. If you are interested in being a part of this important work, please contact the Voter Services Chair at
