Board Meeting Summary

July 2019

In lieu of a full board meeting in July, the Executive Committee met via conference call on July 10, 2019. Here are the meeting notes:

  • Huge thanks are due to Marilynne Wilander, Katherine Gavzy, Mildred Dockery, and the entire committee of Leaguers for the excellent Ice Cream Social.  We’re all excited with the results!
  • On August 14, 2019, the Board met for its annual retreat and meeting from 2–5 p.m. at the Women’s City Club (WCC) of Pasadena.
  • Pat Coulter has appointed a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Taskforce.  The inaugural members are Dorothy Keane, Debbie Fagen, and Jacqueline Pinn.
  • The Board retreat focused on building working relationships and understanding the role of governance for directors, with special focus on DEI.
  • The Board meeting addressed LWV-PA business and programs, with a focus on the housing study.
  • WCC is making management changes.  Dates for LWV events are entered in WCC’s calendar for 2019–2020.
  • For the LWV Centennial Celebration in 2020, Pat is meeting with the president of LWVLA to discuss a collaboration.
  • The December 11 Board meeting will be followed by a holiday gathering at WCC.
