*If not qualified, voting during the EARLY VOTING period to reduce congestion at the polls.
VOTING BY MAIL
If you are 65 or over, you can request a ballot by printing a copy of the GENERAL APPLICATION FOR ABSENTEE BALLOT, filling it out, then mailing or delivering it to your parish registrar of voters.
If you are under 65, the Louisiana Secretary of State has just published a COVID-19 EMERGENCY ABSENTEE BALLOT APPLICATION. It states the conditions under which you can apply for a ballot to vote by mail. If you qualify, you can request a ballot by printing a copy of the application, filling it out, then mailing or delivering to your parish registrar of voters.
For the August 25 Municipal General Election you must submit your application by August 8 and return your ballot by August 11.
VOTING EARLY
The Louisiana Secretary of States lists early voting locations on its website.
For the August 25 Municipal General Election, early voting dates are July 25 - August 8 (excluding Sundays) from 8:30 am - 6:00 pm.
