Redistricting is the process where district lines are redrawn within a state. This includes drawing districts for Congress, State Board of Equalization, State Senate, State Assembly, county boards of supervisors, city councils, school boards, and special district boards.

Prepared by Common Cause, Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, and State Voices in collaboration with a large coalition of stakeholders, this guide provides a general yet comprehensive overview of redistricting, its many steps, and best practices. You can download Spanish, Chinese (simplified and traditional), Korean, or Vietnamese versions from this Dropbox folder.
