June Board Meeting Summary — Building Momentum

The Board of Directors met via Zoom in June. Here is a summary:

▪  The U.S. League has taken position on S1 advocacy and will be hosting an event that will give an in-depth overview of S1 legislation on June 16. A Friend Bank will be hosted on June 23, open to all League members, family, and friends.

▪  Delegates for the State Convention have access to reimbursement.

▪  The Board passed a motion to support the Pasadena Tenant Justice Coalition for securing rent control and just-cause evictions.

▪  The Board passed a motion to join the Pasadena Affordable Housing Coalition as a co-sponsor.

▪  The July 14 Board meeting has been canceled; a new meeting date is to be determined.

▪  In the near future, the Board will be making appointments to fill vacancies.

▪  The Board Retreat is set for August 26 at Maxwell House as an all-day event. The agenda and topics of focus will be determined before the retreat and distributed to Board members.

▪  The deadline for membership renewal dues is July 1 and should be paid no later than July 30.

▪  An orientation event will be scheduled sometime this summer to greet and inform new members.

▪  The Board is deliberating the possibility of conducting hybrid meetings (both virtual and in-person) to expand accessibility to a broader audience.
