Mary Arnold, an amazing art teacher who will provide step by step instructions
Mary Arnold is a Southern Indiana educator turned YouTube sensation during the Covid19 pandemic. After teaching in the public schools for nearly 20 years she created a way for families to stay connected and creative during the shutdown. This creative cause turned into a global hit with viewers of both her YouTube channel and Facebook page reaching over 30 countries and nearly 20,000 followers. Painting with a Purpose has one main goal. To make art accessible for everyone. Mary offers free painting classes, and donate all proceeds to purchasing Surprise Supplies, which puts art supplies into the hands of children in need in her community. Mary has donated over $1,000 in art supplies to local children and has helped organizations raise over $18,000 for their causes. Mary loves teaching art to children, adults, and all those who label themselves as the non creative type. Mary believes everyone can paint, and once they learn how, they love to create.

Q: Where do I paint?
A: You can paint individually at your own home or invite friends over to paint together virtually
Q: What supplies do I need and where I can I purchase them?
A: Supplies can be purchased (approx., cost $25 or less) either:
1. on Amazon
- Click: Acrylic Paint Set
- Search for canvas on Amazon. Note: canvasses come in packs
2. on your own: Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Plaza Art located in Kenwood or Clifton, or
Suder’s Art Store (downtown)
3. at an art store of your choice
- Purchasing supplies individually, you will need:
- Brushes: 1” flat brush, #2 medium brush & #6 round brush
- 11x14 acrylic canvas: canvas panel or stretch panel
- Acrylic paints: medium bodied acrylics (0.4oz)
- Colors you need: pink, white, blue, brown & black
