Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 15, 2022 as the Arab American National Museum (AANM) hosts its Grand Gala at The Henry in Dearborn! Presented by the Friends of AANM, the Grand Gala celebrates AANM’s singular role as the first and only museum dedicated to telling the Arab American story.

Themed Ayam Zaman: Once Upon a Tune, the Grand Gala celebrates AANM’s singular role as the first and only museum dedicated to preserving and sharing Arab American history, art and culture while building bridges between communities nationwide.

Throughout the year, AANM provides engaging and accessible educational and cultural programming to keep the Arab American community connected, proud and visible. AANM thoughtfully addresses the challenges of the present by serving as a necessary resource to educators, children and youth, researchers, musicians, artists, filmmakers, and thousands more through free and accessible in-person and online programming. Since reopening in February 2022, your support has allowed AANM to continue providing free school tours, engaging K-12 students with interactive experiences that expand their knowledge of and appreciation for Arab American history, art, and culture.

The Grand Gala is more than a fundraiser; it is a festive reunion of our resilient Arab American community, bringing everyone together in Dearborn, the heart of Arab America. Join us this year at the spectacular Henry Hotel for an exciting evening of fine dining and entertainment.

This year, we are so excited to welcome singer, songwriter and composer Nano Raies and her ensemble to the stage! Nano will give life to some of the most foundational songs in Arab music history, taking us back to ayam zaman (the good old days).

 Meet the Entertainment

Singer, songwriter and composer Nano Raies was the first Syrian woman to graduate from Berklee College of Music and received the prestigious Professional Music Achievement award. Her singing spans multiple languages and is a fusion style of Middle Eastern Arabic, Western classical, pop, gypsy jazz, Latin, Brazilian and more. Her renditions of popular songs, such as “Prayer,” “Shar” and “Drive My Car”, along with her new single, “Thawret Shaab,” come from the depth of her faith in life, sorrow, hope and remarkable life journey.
