Remember: If you're voting from home in the August primary you must sign the outside of your ballot envelope before turning it in.  Your ballot will be rejected if it doesn't have a signature.

If a voter wants their absentee ballot to count, they must sign the ballot envelope with their official signature.  A voter's "official signature" is the one that they use to sign official documents, like a lease or driver's license, as opposed to what they sign for their groceries at the grocery store.

Before an absentee ballot is counted, an election official verifies that the signature on the ballot envelope sufficiently agrees with the signature in the voter's registration record.  If the election official finds that the signature does not sufficiently agree, or that the voter has failed to sign the ballot envelope, the voter's ballot is rejected.
