League of Women Voters of California, League of Women Voters of Greater Los Angeles, & League of Women Voters of Pasadena Statement on Monterey Park, CA Shooting

Our hearts are broken for the community and families of those tragically lost in the shooting in Monterey Park, CA at the Lunar New Year celebrations. During a time that should have been focused on joyful celebration, family, and renewal, we are saddened that so many instead are grieving and living through this traumatic event that has forever changed their lives and the community.

The League of Women Voters of California condemns violence against all people and works to enact gun safety laws that would protect all of our communities.  We join our friends and neighbors across the state in mourning with the Monterey Park community, and will continue our advocacy to end senseless gun violence.
