I'm excited to introduce you to Paula Bowman, Gray Panthers of Metro Detroit's speaker for our virtual January 20th meeting. The topic for this month's presentation is "Protecting Democracy at the Polls...How You Can Make A Difference!". Protecting Democracy has become an important goal during this election season for many groups.
Paula Bowman is highly qualified to discuss how citizens can protect democracy and the integrity of our elections in 2024. Paula is the Co-President of the League of Women Voters of Michigan. She has been President of the League for the past three years and has been a LWV member in Wayne County for nearly 40 years. Paula serves on the Board of Directors of Promote the Vote, a group that was successful in getting the Prop 2 voting rights ballot proposal adopted during the 2022 election. She'll provide a background on the challenges of protecting democracy and how citizens can protect election integrity at the local level.
