Times of reflection can often lead us to revisit the need for renewal and shared purpose. Our ACCESS 54th Anniversary Dinner, happening on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center, makes for a great opportunity to do just that. Each year, we bring together almost 2000 friends, supporters, leaders, and philanthropists to uplift the incredible collective work being done by remarkable individuals committed to shaping a better future for our community and to honor our cultural heritage by highlighting our distinguished Arab-American of the year. For over 50 years, ACCESS has been a cornerstone of support in southeast Michigan, standing as a symbol of resilience and a constant reminder of the unwavering belief we all share for a just and equitable future; A mission we believe in so deeply that it has propelled our efforts to the national level. This year's event promises to be a powerful evening of unity, recognition, and bridge-building to drive our mission forward. By purchasing a ticket or becoming a sponsor, you will help us continue to deliver the vital programming and critical resources ranging from healthcare and advocacy work to education and social well-being that help change lives, families, and generations every single day.

Dear friends, For more than five decades, ACCESS has recognized Arab Americans whose contributions have left a lasting impact on our communities and beyond. This year, we are proud to honor Dr. Rami Nashashibi as the 2025 Arab American of the Year. A Palestinian American community activist, academic, and artist, Dr. Nashashibi is the founding executive director of the Inner-City Muslim Action Network (IMAN), a Chicago-based nonprofit that advances social justice, provides direct services and fosters the arts in urban communities. His work has transformed lives by bridging racial, religious and socioeconomic divides, using holistic approaches to address systemic inequities. A MacArthur "genius grant" fellow, Dr. Nashashibi has been a powerful advocate for justice, using scholarship, organizing and artistic expression to drive meaningful change. His unwavering commitment to empowering communities embodies the very spirit of this honor. Join us in honoring his legacy at the ACCESS 54th Anniversary Dinner on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at the Marriott at the Renaissance Center. Stay tuned for more details as the event approaches!
