Who are Women in Black?

Women in Black is a world-wide network of women committeed to peace and opposed to injustice, war, militarism and other forms of violence.  Women in Black has a tradition of walking slowly and silently in single file in a spirit of mournig.  We are led by a drumbeat that recalls the heartbeat of humanity.  We avoid national symbols, like flags, to emphasize our common humanity.
